Dr. Erica Tagliatti

Dr. Erica Tagliatti received her BSc and MSc in Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology from the University of Genoa (2006-2011). In 2015, she obtained her PhD in Neuroscience and Brain Technology from the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) and University of Genoa, studying the role of Arf6 and Synapsin 1 in the regulation of synaptic vesicle cycle at pre-synaptic compartment. In 2016 she joined the Department of Clinical and Experimental Epilepsy at the UCL Institute of Technology, working under Dr. Kirill Volynski and strictly collaborating with Prof. James Rothman. Erica’s work is part of the Wellcome Trust Synaptopathies program, aiming to dissect the role of Synaptotagmin1 in the regulation of neurotransmitter release at small central synapses.
